Bobbin - Regular (red)

I purchased this bobbin out of curiosity and as a gift to myself. I really like the idea of an adjustable tension bobbin and it’s not the only one I own. Great product but a couple problems. The adjustment barrel slips at random times unrolling the thread spool. Additionally, it’s hard to determine the direction to turn the adjustment barrel in order to tighten or loosen the thread tension. A mark somewhere on the body of the bobbin indicating the direction to turn the barrel would be helpful. Additionally, it would be helpful to increase the tension between the adjustment barrel and the threads it rides on somehow so the adjustment barrel doesn’t slip. Other than that, a great product and a brilliant idea.

I fought spending the money on this - I have 14 bobbins of all other types many are fine. However, this one is way better than the others and I'm glad I bought it.

I bought these after reading about them. I'm also a mechanical engineer who love fishing so I knew had to support SmHaen. The quality and function is amazing. upgrading to a ceramic bobbin was a must for me since I wanted to work with silk as well.
