It was time to replace and update my fly tying desk including my thread I have had for years. I had been using UTC and Danville 70denier for most of all my nymphs and dry fly tying. The UTC and Danville seemed exceptionally week in some colors, and both brands seem really week when compared to the Semperfli line of thread. The Semperfli is strong, yet it doesnt bulk up. I like how I can spin my bobbin for a more "corded" thread, and if I need it to be flatter, I can untwist it to accomplish this. The thread seems like it has the perfect amount of wax to it as well. The thread seems to be very strong compared to the size / denier and the color options are great. I bought the 120yd spool in select colors because the 240yd spool wasn't available in the colors I needed at the time. The quality is still the same, and the review above reflects both the 120yd and 240yd spools.
