Description

Extra Select Craft Fur from Hareline is a must-have material for any angler’s fly-tying kit. This high-quality craft fur is widely used in many saltwater and streamer fly patterns and has become popular due to its remarkable durability and natural look. The material comes in a wide range of colors, which guarantees that every angler can find the perfect shade that matches their specific fly-tying needs.

Craft fur is a versatile material that can be used for tying flies. This craft fur has fibers long enough for the largest saltwater and freshwater patterns. You can even use the 'underfur' as a dubbing. The fibers move in the water currents, creating a lifelike movement that can attract even the most wary fish. This Hareline Extra Select Craft Fur is durable in harsh conditions like saltwater. Durability ensures your flies will perform as expected, keeping their shape throughout the day. With over 30 colors, you can find exactly the color you need. Each piece measures 5" x 5".

What makes this craft fur good for fly tying?

This Hareline fly-tying fur is a high-quality, synthetic fly-tying material that's perfect for creating different types of flies. It's a popular choice among both experienced and novice fly tiers alike because of its excellent durability, natural appearance, and ease of use. One of the most notable features of Extra Select Craft Fur is its softness, which mimics the natural movement of animal fur.

Which types of flies are Extra Select Craft Fur good for?

Hareline's fur is ideal for tying baitfish patterns such as Clouser minnows because it's resistant to water absorption, ensuring the fly remains lightweight and can float on the surface. Its fine and soft fibers also create a pulsating motion in the water that closely resembles that of a real baitfish.

Craft fur fly tying is also ideal for creating shrimp and crab patterns. The fibers can be trimmed to different lengths and layered to mimic the look of legs or antennae. The material can also be used for tying deceivers, which are larger baitfish patterns that work well for predatory fish species. It can also be used with other materials like Rabbit Fur Strips, 1/8" and Barred Rabbit Fur Strips, 1/8" for unique patterns.

good quality craft fur

I like Hareline craft fur because it is a tiny bit coarser texture than some other very silky craft furs. For my uses this is perfect. Great colors, and I have several extremely effective patterns using this material.

Good color!

The streamers I'm tying are fairly simple, but getting the right color is important. The one I bought, along with other materials, is good for mimicking a baby smallmouth--and the results have been good!

Craft fur

Good stuff - tip, use underfur for dubbing loops!
