I bought these as a substitute for a predator hook (pike/musky) and all I have to say is these hooks being made to get a hookset in a very boney jaw (Tarpon) make these a perfect choice for pike/musky flies plus the added weight helps those big flies maintain balance
I've used these plenty and while you don't get as much shank to tie on I can say they work remarkably for my intended purpose
