An economical version of an essential tool, that fits on most vise stems. To measure hackle size, bend your hackle quill around the pin at the bottom of the gauge. Hook scale measures fly hooks from sizes 4 through 16 and the hackle scale measures feathers larger than size 16. (Smaller hackle sizes are shown on the scale but may not be totally accurate due to variations in the post placement.)
