I've been tying for a couple decades, both fish and salt water.
Most salt water flies are larger and easier to control the material.
Some smaller bonefish flies were a challenge due to rubber legs, smaller body material to mimmic shrimps and other sand dwelling creatures.
The bobbin has allowed me to tie fresh water flies, nymphs with these mitts I have as hands.
Perfect for smaller thread as well as larger threads.
Great tool at a great price.

I've had good luck with inexpensive bobbins from J Stockard, but not this one. It rays and breaks thread.

I bought this as an extra bobbin to use and found that you get what you pay for. Cuts and tears thread and I no longer use it. Perhaps I just got a defective one.
