Conceived as a step beyond the standard Norvise and a tribute to Norm Norlander's 20+ year legacy, this Norvise Legacy Vise uses high quality 303 stainless steel in place of the standard vise's brass components. The stainless steel parts will never tarnish or rust.
Just like the original Norvise, the Legacy is designed to "spin" the hook to apply material with the hook shank held in perfect alignment with the axis of rotation. This vise works like a lathe and provides much greater speed, better thread tension control and more precise material placement. As experienced fly tiers know, this revolutionary rotary fly-tying vise yields a lifetime of fly-tying success. Norvise positions the hook on a perfect rotational centerline, allowing the hook to be spun, replacing tiresome hand-over-hand wrapping. Then, with the hook's shank always aligned to the center, the material is "turned" or "spun" onto the hook; this requires less labor time and is a frustration eliminator. Precision ball bearing and upgraded stainless steel hubs enable the Legacy to work like a spinning wheel for the world's most fluid dubbing, creating perfectly shaped and textured bodies. Working thread, other body materials, and hackles are applied better, faster, and easier than any other method. Made in USA.
This Legacy Vise is the most popular and versatile configuration: Standard Size Stainless hubs, Standard Inline Jaws, a matching Thread Post, mounting hardware (for the optional mounting board), Allen wrench, set-up, operating instructions, and an hour-long instructional video. Made in USA, packaged similar to standard Norvise (no accessories included). Mounting board in picture sold separately.
