Measures 10 1/2" x 16", made of 1/2" thick bamboo. Mounting holes (one for the vise, the other for the Thread Post / bobbin rest) are 5/64" diameter, countersunk for the nuts and centered 1" from the front and side edges, both left and right sides. The edges and corners are rounded. (To make your own base, start with a bamboo or maple cutting board, available at home goods stores. You also can use a counter top cut-out for a sink, often available from kitchen cabinet installers.)
