Other Details

Because GSP fibers are quite tough, they can damage the blade edge on fine scissors and stainless bobbins. The makers recommend using a ceramic bobbin and cutting with a razor blade. Nano Silk will take most dubbing waxes and this helps the thread stay in place as well as serve as a great dubbing thread. Although it is tough enough to make durable flies without a coating of head cement, UV cure and water-based cements can be used for appearance or texture. Solvent-based glues and coatings are not recommended as they might impair the fibers' strength.

Nano thread

Nano thread is the smallest diameter and strongest thread I have ever used, even down to 24/0 which is perfect for the smallest of flys

Excellent for use on hair wing fly

After watching a tying video using the Semperfli nano silk, I made a purchase. I used this on elk hair caddis and yellow sallies. The hair compressed so easily that you need to be careful or you will cut the hair. I would say about half the force of compression is needed. I’ll be using this product on all hair flys.
