This hook is THE hook to use when you want to tie the "Spider" style flies! It is the only hook available that I consider using for the traditional "North Country" patterns. It excels for that application.
A 'bonus' is that you can also use them for just about every 'Soft Hackle' style of fly as well. You're 'compromising' a bit when using them for BOTH styles, but it's a small price to pay for the convenience.
The fish certainly don't seem to mind which style you've tied on them!
