Strung Peacock Herl - 5" - 7"

I have tied a lot of #12- #10 jig hook,bead head nymphs lately with different colors of leggy and sometimes flashy dubbing. I use a couple of strands of the peacock herl for the tail, then pull the other 3-4 strands I have on the tail up just behind the hook eye and tie them off- like a spiky shell back. Then I cut the 2 that are still on the tail short-1/8 to 1/4 of an inch. Colors I have tried have worked well for sunfish and small bass in the hill country rivers in Texas, and rivers further south in Texas.

Id get the peacock feather with the eye if you want quality . A lot of this stuff is unusable unless you want the bare stems for quills. Some have half the quills on them and some have very short quills.
