Whiting hen saddles have firm, resilient barbs with high barb density on a fine yet strong quill. The webby feathers are great for legs and collars on bluegill, wet flies and nymphs with hook sizes in the 12 to 16 range. The feathers can also be burnt or cut for upright dry fly wings. Other uses include legs and wings on hoppers and other terrestrials, and tails and hackle on small bass bugs. The overall length of the saddle is about 9 inches.
